All of Anne’s girls love to talk. I love listening to them – but not all at the same time….. Ciara, the youngest, has to fight hardest for everyone’s undivided attention ( ‘Not true! ‘say the others, but this is my blog and I’ll make up what I like!) She’s in fifth year and alongside other impressive subjects, she’s studying psychology. Now, Anne gets feedback on a daily basis – I have to wait till Sunday but boy is it worth it!
‘SLEEP’ was the topic for Sunday last and I was rivetted. Sleeping patterns, routines, rapid eye movement, dreams, ethical and non ethical experiments, hypnosis, sleepwalking Zzzzzzzzzzzz….
‘Anne! You’re snoring! Sarah! Put your ‘phone away. Caitlin! Where do you think you’re going?!’
‘We’ve heard it already, Nana – at least three times!’
‘Well I haven’t, so carry on Ciara!’ I was eager to hear more…….
That night I couldn’t sleep for wondering what phase of sleep I was in. 0300hrs found me in the lounge decorating the mantlepiece and singing ‘Come, O Divine Messiah’. I retired to my bedroom around 0430 hrs with two slices of toast, a mug of tea and proceeded to challenge myself with some anagrams my lovely neighbour had left me. Tossing and turning? Have a go at these – they put me to sleep…..
